It can also be a useful resource to have on hand during a three-way conference (parent-student-teacher). Please spend some time ‘unpacking’ the rubric with your students to clarify your expectations and theirs. For example, your understanding of ‘Craftsmanship’, is probably different to the students’ initial understanding - usually ‘colouring in between the lines’. The Shapes Drawing Challenge is useful for developing and consolidating skills and concepts. The Shapes Drawing Challenge can be adapted for small or large groups, or individuals, depending on availability of technology. It makes an ideal “station” activity and can be completed individually or collaboratively. It can be differentiated with simpler or more difficult drawing items. While it was designed to use with Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, students can use any other similar programs or apps such as Google Slides or Google Draw
